One hundred twenty children aged 5-12 years old participated in the camp sponsored by Casa Maria Eugenia in Chaparral, NM during the two week inter-session period, March 27 -- April 7, 2006. Crafts, sports, games, and snacks kept the children occupied, energetic and HAPPY.
Led by the Assumption Sisters, AMA volunteers Robin LaRouche and Maggie McCormick, middle-school camp counselors and other friends, the camp had the Dolores Wright park bursting with activity everyday. These camps during the inter-session periods and summer vacation time -- are so important because of the dearth of other opportunities for children and youth in this colonia on the border.
Thanks to all who make this possible through the gift of their time, talent and treasure.
