Canonization Schedule

The congregation's Canonization Committee met in Malaga, Spain over the weekend of March 23-26 to finalize many details regarding the canonization weekend of June 2-4.

Below you will find the revised schedule for the weekend, as well as the sites of the different activities and events. Please disregard any previous information that was given out concerning times, activities and places. Should there be any other changes, we will surely communicate them to you immediately.

Please take note that the committee was just informed that there will be no audience with the Holy Father on Monday, June 4th. Instead, the Pope will address each group of pilgrims at the Angelus, after the celebration of the canonization, which will take place at St. Peters Square.

3-day Pilgrimage Program in Rome

Saturday, June 2

8:30 a.m. Eucharist at St. John Lateran presided by the Postulator Mgr. Duthel

9:30 a.m. Launching of the 3-day Pilgrimage

10:00 a.m. Departure of the pilgrims (end of pilgrimage foreseen at 4:00 p.m.).

The Youth: Via Appia, Catacombs, Tre Fontane, St Paul Outside the Walls, St. Peters Basilica.
Adults: Catacombs, St Clement and the surrounding areas, St. Peters Basilica.

8:00 p.m. Vigils: St. Gregory VII Church, Via del Cottolengo 4 - 00165 ROMA (n4 in the map).

Sunday, June 3

9:00 a.m. Celebration of the Canonization at St. Peters Square (We strongly recommend that you arrive before 8:00 a.m.).

12:00 noon Angelus. The Pope will address a word to each of the group of pilgrims. (There will not be any audience on Monday morning).

4:00 p.m. Meeting of the General Council with the Sisters at the Istituto Maria Bambina, Via Paolo VI, 21 (n3 in the map).

6:30 p.m. Meeting of the General Council with all the pilgrims at the Sala Paolo VI (Sala Nervi), piazza Paolo VI (n2 on the map). Entry to the Hall is at 5:00 p.m.

7:00 p.m. Musical Evening: The young pay homage to Marie Eugenie, Sala Paolo VI (Sala Nervi).

Monday, June 4

8:00 a.m. Thanksgiving Eucharistic Celebration presided by Mgr. Vingt-Trois at St. Peters at the Altar of the Chair of St. Peter (glory of Bernini).

10:00 a.m. Beginning of the visit of Christian Rome in an Openbus. (For those whose tour packages do not provide this.)
