Worcester, MA | Philadelphia, PA | Chaparral, NM
The Worcester community was happy to welcome Sr. Cathy Jones, RA of the English Province to its fair (and snowy!) city, March 20-25.
Sr. Cathy was in the USA for meetings with the National Religious Vocation Conference (NRVC) in Chicago. She is the associate director of the National Office for Vocations at the Bishops' Conference for England and Wales. We're so glad she could come and spend a couple of days with her Sisters "across the pond," getting to know their life and mission...and celebrating a birthday!
Visits to the various programs of the Assumption Center, Assumption College, St. Joseph's Abbey, and meetings with Michelle Sherman, our Vocation and Volunteer Ministry Director, kept her busy (while she wasn't just hanging out with the sisters).
We enjoyed your visit, Sr. Cathy. Please come again!

NRVC EDITORIAL BOARD HOSTS INTERNATIONAL MEMBERS FOR VISIT
In order to enhance HORIZONs coverage and readership in other English speaking countries, the HORIZON Editorial Board welcomed two new members from the UK and Ireland March 15-20. They were Dr. Andrew O'Connell, communications director for the Presentation Brothers in Dublin, and Sister Cathy Jones, RA, associate director of the National Office for Vocations at the Bishops' Conference for England and Wales. The two of them met with NRVC leaders and the members of the Editorial Board and even made time to see a few leprechauns in downtown Chicago at the St. Patricks Day parade.
Unfortunately, Sister Mary Rowell, CSJ of the National Association of Vocation and Formation Directors in Canada was unable to attend this meeting, but we do look forward to having her participate in the future. All three: Andrew, Sister Cathy, and Sister Marywill continue to contribute to the Editorial Board primarily by Skype and e-mail.
NRVC members and staff embraced Andrew and Sister Cathy's tremendous personal warmth and their openness to collaboration in vocation ministry. Both of them shared vocation practices and programs that are working well in their home countries. Their ideas and best practices will be reflected in our publications in the coming months.
The Editorial Board also extends thanks and extends a fond farewell to outgoing members Father Andrew Carl Wisdom, OP and Sister Mary Jane Hahner, CSFN and Father Anthony Vinson, OSB.
