Seven years ago today, in the rain-drenched piazza of St. Peter's Basilica in Rome, Pope Benedict XVI declared Mother Marie Eugenie of Jesus a saint of the universal Church. To the joyous cheers of "Viva Santa Maria Eugenia!," thousands of pilgrims from all over the Assumption world raised their voices in thanksgiving for this great grace.
We spend a few moments today remembering that beautiful moment and giving thanks for the gift that St. Marie Eugenie is for us, for the Church, and for the world.
Saint Marie Eugenie, pray for us!
