Sr. Martine Tapsoba: Our New Superior General!

The General Chapter of the Religious of the Assumption elected Sr. Martine Tapsoba Superior General today, July 17, 2012. We rejoice and give thanks!

Sr. Martine, 53 years old, is from Burkina Faso. She was a member of the General Council from 2006-2012. Previous to that she was Provincial Superior of West Africa (composed of the countries of Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Benin, Togo and Niger) and Novice Mistress. Her term of office is six years.

Sr. Martine visited the U.S. Province in 2008, together with Sr. Katrin Goris of the General Council. We have many fond memories of her time with us and look forward to welcoming her back as our Superior General.

We give thanks as well for Sr. Diana Wauters of the U.S. Province who ended six years of being our Superior General yesterday. She will return to the U.S. Province in August. Welcome home, Sr. Diana!
