Sr. Nha Trang renewed her vows of chastity, poverty and obedience for two more years at the 5:00 p.m. Mass at the Chapel of the Holy Spirit, Assumption College, Worcester last Wednesday, November 8, 2006.
Sr. Nha Trang pronounced her vows in her native Vietnamese language in the presence of her community of Assumption Sisters and Brothers, and many friends from the Vietnamese community and Assumption College:
"Before God, in the Church, and in the presence of my community, I, Teresa Nha Trang Thi Nguyen, Sr. Teresa Nha Trang of the Holy Cross of Jesus, for love of Jesus Christ and in answer to His call, desire to consecrate myself to Him, and to devote my whole life to the extension of His Kingdom.
In your hands, Sr. Mary Ann, representing our Superior General, I renew my vows of chastity, poverty and obedience, following Christ for two years in the Congregation of the Religious of the Assumption and according to their Rule of Life.
Like Mary, I entrust myself to the love of the Father, to the grace of the Lord Jesus and to the power of the Spirit. Amen."
Sr. Nha Trang made her first profession of vows in 2003, also in Worcester.
We are grateful for Sr. Nha Trang's continued 'yes' to God as an Assumption Sister and assure her of our continued prayer and support.
God bless you, dear Sr. Nha Trang!
