The U.S. Province is very happy to send a group of sixteen Sisters and young lay friends to the celebrating the 200th birthdays of Saint Marie Eugenie and Mother Therese Emmanuel, co-foundresses of the Religious of the Assumption. Bringing together young adults and Sisters from the 34 countries in which we live and serve, the pilgrimage will journey through France from August 16 - 26, 2017, visiting places significant to our Foundresses and reflecting on the theme: "Called to live as fully as possible!"
Composed of participants from our Philadelphia, Lansdale, Worcester and Chaparral communities, the would-be pilgrims spent several weeks getting to know the spiritual journey of our two founding Mothers through reading "Wings and Oars" together, and reflecting on their own faith journeys. Happily, two meetings were held -- one in Worcester in June and another in Lansdale in July -- where the pilgrims from all the communities could get to know each other and the Sisters better, work on some practical details, and practice the dance number that they'll present during one of the Cultural Nights of the pilgrimage. The Sisters of the Province were also able to mission them off prayerfully...a blessed event!
The whole Province and the whole congregation hold you in prayer, Mary, Ally, Kate, Lee, Sandy, Kyle, Imani, Melissa, Yoline, Tory, Willemina, Jean-Yves, and Sisters Ake, Nha Trang, Gertrude and Mary Ann!
